At Iutta, we create with the future in mind and we concentrate our efforts on building a more sustainable business model by every step we take. We are a slow-fashion brand focusing on designing evergreen seasonal collections, not creating trends to join.
While we want to express ourselves through art and pass on to future generations the mastery, leatherwork and savoir-faire, we constantly refine our process and make improvements to reduce our footprint.
The manufacturing takes place in our atelier in Bucharest, Romania working with local craftsmen and creating all our products in-house which helps us to have total control on our production. Our artisans have a vast experience in working with leather goods, giving shape to high quality items.
We provide high standards of working conditions, and a safe and healthy environment to all our employees. We take measures to ensure an ethical work environment including, but not limited to, providing fair wages, having fair working hours and encouraging diversity in all forms.
We don’t own a warehouse, we operate on demand and on very small stocks which we store in our showroom, mainly for fitting purposes. This means longer waiting times for production but it also means that we only bring in fresh and meaningful ideas which remain in style.
Pinatex is a natural textile material created as an alternative to leather from leaf fibers which remain from the existing pineapple harvest.
Inspired by the abundance of natural materials and created from repurposed agricultural waste sourced from farming communities it has a positive social and economic impact.
We source our materials from a small number of carefully selected suppliers that are mainly based in Europe. By working with factories run by local family businesses we maintain a more favorable sourcing and production process, reducing air-pollution, transportation and lead times.
We are committed to growth but in a sustainable and ethical way. To reduce our footprint, we are using materials that come from natural sources or as by-products of other industries. At the same time, we are constantly researching innovative materials that maintain the quality of products and have a lower impact on the planet.
This vegan leather is made from sustainably harvested pineapple leaves to preserve the organic beauty of nature, a unique and totally eco-friendly alternative. Pinatex is an ethically sourced natural material from farming communities and is a by-product of the existing pineapple harvest.
